Nate Dushku and his husband Ammon Lourie wanted to offer a different type of movie for the gay community. Maybe something scary, maybe something naughty. Maybe both.

They imagined a murder taking place in a vintage ballroom. But then, Covid happened, and everything had to be taken outside.

What about a serial murderer in a gay nudist camp in New Hampshire. Add some humor into this nightmarish thriller and have nearly everyone go naked, and that’s how “The Birder” came about.
